WELCOME from SALLY HOLMES REED

Flower and Energy Essences are a very special type of holistic healing that work with the nature spirits and elementals that give form to all living things. Our nervous system receives and transmits knowledge, accessing the bio-energy/life force that is unique to each flower or natural material. Essences work in subtle, gentle and safe ways on the fields of energy within and around our body, allowing healing to take place at all levels.

The Hawaiian language is beautiful and complex. The word, Akua, has many meanings. I use it here to mean the invisible, creative essence of nature, including the nature spirits that surround us. Please use these Essences with deep love and gratitude for the guidance, love, friendship and total commitment to our healing from the Flower and Nature Spirits.

Allow me to be your guide in choosing and working with the vibrational healing qualities of Flower & Energy Essences. Working co-creatively with the Akua, nature spirits, devas and elementals, each drop of the healing waters of Flower & Energy Essences vibrates with its own positive healing quality.

Molly from Green Hope Farm reminds us to follow our hearts when being guided to take Flower Essences.

It is my greatest pleasure to offer my combined training and experience in holistic hypnosis, vibrational healing, meridian tapping, educational kinesiology, breath awareness and Hawaiian healing to begin the process of change, activate healing and inspire a beautiful life with intuition, expertise, elegance, compassion, grace, truth, love and gratitude.

I hope you benefit from the information shared here. If this is different from what you have been taught, I am sorry. Please enjoy what is of interest to you and leave the rest.

Take care, Sally

Wisdom of Healing

Wisdom of Healing
Herbal and Wellness Education

ADD, ADHD, various learning difficulties, childhood depression and a host of other physical or emotional health issues have risen exponentially in the last few decades.

Whenever possible, buy organic foods and beverages.

Essential fatty acids (EFA’s) are crucial for literally every cell in the body.

Numerous studies have been done showing EFA’s effectiveness with some of today’s common conditions, including ADD, ADHD, IQ scores, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, dyslexia, learning difficulties, visual function, hostility, aggression and many other related conditions.

Studies have also shown that children with any of these conditions are more likely to experience allergies, asthma, eczema, stomachaches and ear infections than other children. This indicates the probable connection to the digestive system, including both assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxin accumulation.

Supplementing at mealtime with children’s digestive enzymes and an excellent probiotic (acidophilus, bifidus, etc) first thing in the morning (wait 15-30 minutes before eating) will help the body to get the nutrients to the cells and improve elimination of toxins.

Include more cultured foods in your child’s diet. Kids often love yogurt, kefir, miso, sauerkraut and pickles, given the opportunity, because they taste sour and/or salty!

Gentle daily detoxification using foods and nutritious herbs is the safest method for reducing this toxic load from the liver, blood, organs and cells. Lemon juice, organic blueberries, Cellfood, nettles and raspberry leaf tea can all support gentle and safe daily detoxification.

Here are the top 10 favorite general cleansing herbs and foods. Please pay close attention to the quality of the product you choose. Please buy organic/ local whenever possible.

Turmeric
Ginger
Holy basil (tulsi)
Red clover
Burdock
Hempseeds
Sea vegetables
Blessed thistle
Dark leafy green vegetables
Sprouts

When Holy basil (Ocimum sanctum) or Melissa (lemon balm) is added to the EFA’s, probiotics and dietary modifications, results can be profound. Positive results are often noticed by teachers and parents within just a few days.

Holy basil can also help with feelings of anxiousness, irritability, attention, focus, blood sugar issues, restlessness, disturbed sleep and mood swings.

Melissa is soothing, calming, and beneficial for helping to improve focus.

Both of these gentle herbs can support the immune system, helping to prevent cold, flu, ear infections, etc. according to research.

Minerals are also an important group of nutrients for brain function.

An easy way to ‘sneak’ minerals into your child’s diet is to sprinkle kelp or dulse flakes into everything you cook. Sea vegetables have all the macro and trace minerals needed by the developing and properly functioning brain.

Another way for children to enjoy consuming vital nutrients is by offering them herbal teas every day. Experiment with flavors that they may enjoy, and feel free to add extra nettles, raspberry leaf or alfalfa to increase the nutritional profile. Be sure to cover the tea cup or teapot as it steeps to retain those important vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients.

Ample amounts of Vitamin B complex have been associated with good brain and nervous function. Likewise, low amounts of B vitamins have been shown to reduce cognitive function, increase irritability, depression and poor test scores. Good food sources of the B vitamins include all cultured foods, including whole milk organic yogurt and kefir. It is important to choose whole milk organic cultured dairy foods, as many important nutrients are bound to the fat, so low-fat and fat-free versions are simply not as nutritious. And as far as the fat goes, these are good fats, the ones that support good health and brain function!

How can we focus our thoughts to support loving relationships?

"Aloha in the Hawaiian sense actually refers to “a sharing of joyful energy within the present moment.” In other words, it’s about being “happy with” yourself and others. And the degree to which you can do this is the degree that you are able to share love.

Here, love is considered an active thing – a joyful energy that is passed between the participants.

Certainly the energy that is shared between ourselves and others is influenced by the focus of our thoughts.

So, how exactly, can we focus our thoughts to support loving relationships?

Here are 5 ways that were shared with me some time ago through the teachings of Serge King:

1. Focus on the positive qualities in yourself and others. That increases confidence. Focus on the positive benefits of the relationship(s). That increases harmony.

2. When your focus is continually drawn to past events (especially if they were unhappy,) or future events, the love is diminished. Know that love is created anew, each moment, every day. Focus your attention in the moment.

3. By blessing – that is, giving and receiving praise, acknowledgement and appreciation – love is increased. Love is decreased by the separation caused from judgment and criticism. Remember to bless often.

4. When you regularly focus to acknowledge your own source of power, your Spirit, you generate more confidence and harmony from within. That increases your loving interactions with others. Choose to focus on Spirit more often.

5. When you use loving means, such as loving combinations of words, images, feelings and actions that bring harmony within your relationships, love is increased. If you want a loving outcome, use loving means.

There you have it. It’s so very simple and yet so powerfully effective. Yet, I must admit that it’s not always easy. I’m sure you often catch yourself, like I do, acting from old negative programming rather than from these concepts…

However, as Loving Relationships become more and more a priority, our focus makes it possible for us to adopt these as a “way of life” rather than as tools we happen to use when we remember.

The spirit of love, the aloha spirit, is embedded within the cultural and spiritual traditions of the Hawaiian islands and distinguishes them uniquely on the planet."
...
"The Hawaiian masters were very aware of the significance of energy exchange. Knowing that the Universe works through a harmonious interaction of giving and receiving, they understood that the sharing of loving energy was a way to come into attunement with divine power.
...
Invariably their lives open up to a new flow of abundance, and they notice more instances of beauty everywhere around them. They are often able to feel joy in every cell of their bodies for the first time in their lives. As a result, they also experience more love, health and abundance through unexpected channels."

Hawai'ian Secret

As a word in Hawaiian, ka huna actually means "the secret."

Interestingly, this particular word has the connotation of something hard to see, not something intended to be kept hidden.

The process itself is described in the Hawaiian proverb,
Makia ke ali'i, ehuehu ka ukali :
literally, "concentration is the chief, energy is the follower".

With a deep knowledge and understanding of Hawaiian culture, a Kahuna laʻau kahea is a respected healer who heals with words.

Hoʻoponopono techniques create a working partnership among the parts of the mind or self:

1. The High Self (Kane, Aumakua), inspires.
2. The Conscious Self (Lono) imagines.
3. The Subconscious Self (Ku) remembers.
4. The Core Self (Kanaloa) wills.

About CLEARING YOURSELF of limiting beliefs quickly.
About FREEING YOURSELF from your past quickly.
About MOVING FORWARD in your life and leaving the old baggage behind quickly.
About OPENING YOURSELF UP to all the possibilities all around you quickly.

One nice thing about the Hawaiian version of the secret is that it includes specific instructions for putting it into practice. These instructions can be found in the roots of a little-understood Hawaiian word, haipule.

It's original meaning as a whole word was based on the word hai (to offer) plus pule (prayer, blessing, spell).

Haipule is an Hawaiian word which means "to dream a new life or reality into being."
That is, haipule is a term relating to a process for making good things happen.

The actual process describe four ways to maintain a positive focus, which is the key ingredient of the secret.

Ha, meaning "life, breath, spirit."
Breathe deeply and get emotionally excited while thinking about what you want, or at least feel as positive and happy as you can. When you lose your focus, breathe deeply to get back into the present and start over.

I, meaning "to speak."
Speak the words that describe what you want, aloud or silently. When you find yourself speaking negative words related to what you want, stop, breathe, and go back to saying what you want instead.

Pu, meaning "to issue forth, to appear like smoke."
This is a poetic description of imagination. Imagine what you want in as much sensory detail as you can. When you find yourself imagining what you don't want, stop, breathe, and imagine what you want again.

Le, a short form of lele meaning, basically, "to move."
Whenever you are thinking or speaking about what you want, assume a positive posture and move in confident ways. When you find yourself feeling depressed, helpless or disillusioned in relation to what you want, stop, take a deep breath, and change your posture or the way you move into a more positive and confident mode.

You don't have to do everything every time you think of what you want, but each method reinforces the other and helps you to maintain your positive expectation.

Expand and enrich your life.

So that's it. The secret is out.

Or, as the ancient Hawaiians would have said,
Ahuwale ka nane huna :
"That which was a secret is no longer hidden"
(from 'Olelo No'eau, by Mary Kawena Pukui)

Parts taken from "Huna" means "The Secret" by Serge Kahili King

The key to your happiness and contentment lies within your own heart and mind.

The key to your happiness and contentment lies within you, within your own heart and mind.

The way you start each day is very important; you can start of on the right foot or the wrong one.

You can wake up with a song of joy and gratitude in your heart for the new day, for being alive, for the very wonder of living, and for being in tune with harmony and the rhythm of all life.

You can expect for the very best from the coming day and therefore draw it to you.
What today will bring, rests with you.

Constucting my logo, 5 circles

A red octagon (regular 8-sided polygon) circumscribing the outer blue circle 1,
with the middle of a side coincident with an end-point of a centerline.

Within are five green circles with a radius half that of circle 1,
one concentric with it,
the other four with their centers at the intersections of the centerlines and the dividing lines.
Five : With Five, we take a quantum leap into Life!
The ancients did not recognize a fourth physical dimension (which we label time); recognizing a radically different direction from the preceding four, they saw Five as generating life itself.
Whether in the fiveness of human hands and feet,
or the quintessence of the philosophers,
Five transforms the physiosphere into the biosphere.
According to some sages,
the five-pointed star is the symbol of enlightenment.
Symbol of excellence and authority,
Five may read as representing the principle of evolution itself.
It reminds me of Chokmah, primordial Force.
As Fibonacci spirals, the phi ratio is found everywhere:
in the number of petals in a flower,
buds on a stem,
keys on the piano,
and in human proportions from DNA up.
The ratio shows itself in pineapples and fir cones, weather patterns, sunflowers, chambered shells, galaxies, and whirlpools.
Reconciling the clash of opposites into counterbalancing spirals at higher levels,
the phi proportion is the unique example of a self-replicating ratio, illustrating the part/whole relationship par excellence.
You are the center, and from within, you are able to take the steps necessary to see out.

Sacred geometry, Vesica Pisces

Sacred geometry is based on the idea that geometric shapes, as they appear in nature and as they may be constructed by human art, are a means by which mystics aim to teach the secrets of the universe to those who wish to know.

Symbols are, after all, a language in and of themselves.

The Vesica Pisces is one of the most widely used geometries from ancient to modern times.

In three dimensions this shape is two spheres which have merged so that the center of each lies on the edge of the other.

The two dimensional description of this shape is two equal circles which intersect, so that the center of each lies on the circumference of the other and the shape formed by the intersection is a pointy ended oval.

The whole geometry is known as the vesica pisces, the overlaping oval is the vesica.

These shapes form the basis of the Flower of Life and are commonly found in the decoration of sacred bulidings and their architecture across virtually all known spiritual traditions.

Flower of Life

The fourth step in the Flower of Life is the first step in multiplication.
From the Kahuna we see that it represents 'Ha' which means four and also means breath.
Egyptian myth indicates this to be the solar plexus.
Notice the vesica pisces which appears obvious as the fourth step is developed.
The pentagonal DNA strands begin to appear.
The number four is the first result of multiplication.
Heart chakra energy has two distinct characteristics,
that of the heart as we know it (lower heart),
and that of the thymus (upper heart),
which is the electromagnetic energy surrounding the heart
and extending into the fifth power.
The two are reciprocating as they function together.

Reign Dance massage oils

QUALITIES and GRADES OF MASSAGE/CARRIER OILS
Remember that unrefined oils smell just like the seed or nut from which they came. No smell means that the oil has been refined regardless of what the label states.

The refining process removes all living essentials, colors, phyto-nutrients, vitamins, minerals, phospholipids and essential oils. This is done to increase the shelf-life of the oil and to harvest important chemicals inherent in the oil. One of these commonly harvested chemicals is oleic acid. Oleic acid lowers cholesterol and has the quality of absorption in an oil.

The cost of refinement renders an oil depleted of all nutrient value, but most importantly, the heat involved in refinement creates dangerous acrylimides or plastics. This is also why trans-fats or hydrogenated oils are so dangerous to our well-being and, they are found in all processed foods from the cereals we eat to the oils and lotions we apply to our body, even trans-dermal patches.

Here are the 12 qualities of oil used for both food, medicine and massage. The US Labeling laws are not presently requiring this full level of disclosure on oil labels as does Europe.
1) Certified Organic Food Grade (Non-GMO, no chemical fertilizers, no pesticides)
Certified Organic Crude or Unrefined
Certified Organic Partially Refined
Certified Organic Refined
2) Organically grown (GMO in question, no chemical fertilizers, no pesticides)
Organic Crude or Unrefined
Organic Partially Refined
Organic Refined
3) Sustainably Grown (GMO in question, fertilizers, but no pesticides)Sustainably Grown Unrefined
Sustainably Grown Partially Refined
Sustainably Grown Refined
4) Commercially Grown (has pesticides, fertilizers and are GMO)Conventionally Grown Unrefined
Conventionally Grown Partially Refined
Conventionally Grown Refined

Certified Organic oils are many times refined! How did we find out this information? We called the refineries ourselves!

We also questioned well known organic companies producing foods and oils and found that they used organic partially processed oils. Many times, doing your own research is necessary when sketchy labeling leaves you with questions.

WARNING ABOUT NATURAL FLAVORS:
How many times have you seen a label that has naturals flavor as an ingredient? In calling the company that makes the item, which we did, we found out that is covers everything from MSG to annatto, both of which can cause migraines.

Partially refined oils have been deodorized, the single most damaging process in the oil refinement process! This process takes place at 450-500 degrees for at least 30-45 minutes, until all living essentials and colors are evaporated. (Convection ovens are used with extremely high steam heat.)

Companies do this for increased shelf-life resulting in better financial profits and to give oils a flat neutral oil base to suite their buyers’ specific needs. This processed and partially processed oil is used in cereals, baked goods and processed foods. Fully refined oils are used for cosmetics, soaps, shampoos, lotions, hormone and nicotine patches, some medicines and most massage oils.

Sacred Truths of the Chakra Centers in our body.

I use this concept of “sacred truths” connected to each chakra.
Caroline Myss' Chakra System of Sacred Truths
Understanding Your Sacred Truths

Caroline Myss teaches that the strengths and fears associated with each of the seven chakras follow from either honoring, or not honoring, the sacred truth associated with each of the body's chakras, or energy centers. If the sacred truth is not honored, the likelihood of energy weakness, and possibly physical dysfunctions may increase.

Chakra One - All is One
Essential energy of this Chakra is Tribal Power [Note from Sally: I edit this to add “Safety and Security, Feeling fully Supported and Connected ”]

We are connected to all of life, and every choice we make and every belief we hold exerts influence upon the whole of life.

Fears: Physical survival, abandonment by the group, loss of physical order. [Sally adds: “insecurity about money, work and relationships; feeling alone, unworthy, unconnected, unwanted, afraid”]

Strengths: Tribal, [community, social] and family identity,
bonding, support, loyalty.

[Possible ]Physical Dysfunctions [that may be manifest]
Chronic lower back pain, sciatica, depression, immune disorders, rectal tumors, cancer, varicose veins.

Chakra Two - Honor One Another
The essential energy of this Chakra is Partnership. Every relationship we develop, from the most casual to the most intimate, serves the purpose of helping us to become more conscious.

Fears: Loss of control or being controlled through addiction, rape, betrayal, impotence, financial loss; abandonment. [add or replace with “ignoring or avoiding our feelings, losing our freedom to discover who we are”]

Strengths : Ability and stamina to survive financially and physically, ability to take risks, power to rebel and establish a new life. [Sally edits this to “nurture ourselves and others; in touch with our needs and desires, accept all of our feelings, create life and provide and nurture that life.”]

Physical Dysfunctions: Chronic lower back pain, sciatica, ob/gyn problems, sexual impotency, urinary problems.

Chakra Three - Honor One's Self
Essential energy of Chakra - Personal Power. [and WISDOM ]
We must mature in our self-understanding - the relationship we have with ourselves and how we stand on our own and take care of ourselves.

Fears: Rejection, criticism, failing to meet responsibilities; diminished physical appearance; uncovering of our “secrets.” [struggle, give away our intention, our choice, our will ]

Strengths: [Value ourselves, stand up for ourselves, take our creations into the world] Self-esteem, self-discipline, ambition, ability to handle a crisis, courage to take risks, generosity, ethics, strength of character.

Physical Dysfunctions: Arthritis, gastric or duodenal ulcers, diabetes, indigestion, anorexia or bulimia, liver dysfunction, adrenal dysfunction.

Chakra Four - Love is Divine Power
[Sally adds “Easily and Effortlessly Give and Receive Love”]
Essential energy of Chakra - Emotional Power. [compassion and forgiveness]Emotional energy, not mental energy, is the true motivation of the human body and spirit.

Fears: Loneliness, commitment, “following one's heart,” vulnerability, betrayal, jealousy, bitterness, hatred, inability to forgive.

Strengths: Love, forgiveness, compassion, dedication, inspiration, hope, trust, ability to heal self and others.

Physical Dysfunctions: Heart problems, respiratory diseases, upper back and shoulder pain, and breast cancer.

Chakra Five - Surrender Personal Will to Divine Will
[Sally edits this to “Speak your Truth” and “ I am willing to change”]
Essential energy of Chakra - The Power of Will. Will that has trusted in Divine authority to create the best effects. [ “Actions motivated by a personal integrity.”]

Fears: Yielding our power of choice to a Divine force. [ “giving up our power, not speaking up for ourselves and others, afraid to change]

Strengths: [ express who we are, say exactly what we are thinking and feeling without compromise or judgment, communicate with compassion and integrity ] Faith, self-knowledge, knowing that we can keep our word to ourselves or to another person.

Physical Dysfunctions: Raspy throat, chronic sore throat, mouth ulcers, gum difficulties, temporomandibular joint problems, scoliosis, laryngitis, swollen glands, thyroid problems.

Chakra Six - Seek Only the Truth [ “ Trust your intuition, Know what you know.”]
Essential energy of Chakra - Power of the Mind. [ Insight and Imagination ]Search continually for the difference between truth and illusion.

Fears: Introspection, realistic judgment of others, external counsel, discipline, one's shadow side (what we would hide from the world).

Strengths: [Clarity,Insight and Imagination ] Intellect; ability to evaluate conscious and unconscious insights, receive inspiration, generate acts of creativity and intuitive reasoning.

Physical Dysfunctions: Brain tumor, stroke, neurological disturbances, blindness, deafness, full spinal difficulties, learning disabilities, seizures.

Chakra Seven - Live in the Present Moment
Essential energy of Chakra - Our Spiritual Nature. Seek an intimate connection to the Divine [Creative Renewable Source] in everything we do.

Fears: Spiritual abandonment, loss of identify and connection with life and people around us.

Strengths : [Active partner in co-creating our world ]Faith in the presence of the Divine and in all that that faith represents in one's life - inner guidance, insight into healing, devotion.

Physical Dysfunctions: Paralysis, bone cancer, genetic disorders, multiple sclerosis.
